Management measures of the incineration plant
The truck must enter the plant along the specified route and drive at a speed under the upper limit in the plant area. It must be checked at the platform scale room for the Clearing Triplicate Form and type of the garbage. It must also undergo the inspection for the cleanness of the body, the cover and the leakage of the wastewater to ensure the safety and cleanness along the route of the truck.
Dumping of the garbage
After enter the plant along the elevated road and arriving in the feeding area, the truck dumps the garbage from the feeding door. Personnel are designated to make spot checks of the garbage. If any problem is identified during the inspection, the personnel will request the truck driver to dump all garbage on the dumping platform for further inspection. This is useful for the avoidance of unauthorized dumping and prolonging of the service life.
Hoisting of the garbage
After the garbage is dumped in the pit, the personnel in the control room mix the garbage thoroughly and make sure that there is no non-combustible material. Then they operate the bucket crane to feed the well-mixed garbage in two incinerators. The garbage is dried, oxidized and burned in the incinerator to form the bottom ash, which will be conveyed to the cooling equipment and sent to the bottom ash storage pit.
Incineration of the garbage
The plant has two mechanical grate incinerators that operate 24 hours a day. The throughput of each incinerator is 450 tons per day at a controlled temperature of 850-1050 °C.
Waste heat recovery system
The waste heat of 850~1050 °C produced during the incineration is cooled down to 220-260 °C via the natural circulation wall-fired boiler. The steam produced during the cooling process (40 kg/cm2) is supplied to the primary air pre-heater, soot blower, deaeration and dehydration tank and air ejector, while the rest of the steam flows to the steam turbine generator for generation of power. The generation capacity of the steam turbine generator is 23,725 MW.
Wastewater treatment system
The wastewater produced during the incineration of the garbage is classified into ordinary and organic wastewater. Thanks to the semi-dry scrubber, there is no problem of scrubbing wastewater. Though the wastewater in the pit spreads a foul smell, it is simply sprayed in the incinerator for burning due to the small quantity and high designed heat value of the garbage. The plant has a sewage treatment system to treat all other wastewater according to the tertiary treatment procedure of the 2001 effluent standard. The treatment is designed based on the zero-discharge criteria and the treated wastewater is recycled for the operation of the incineration.
Transportation and bury of the bottom ash, fly ash and solidification
The product of incineration includes the bottom ash, fly ash and reaction product. The bottom ash that falls down at the back incineration phase undergoes the water-cooling process and is conveyed to the bottom ash storage pit, while the fly ash and reaction product collected using the economizer, cyclonic dust collector, semi-dry scrubber and bag filter dust collector are conveyed to a separate storage bin. The bottom ash in the pit is then moved to a truck using a bucket crane and transported to the landfill after being weighed. The collected fly ash and reaction product are transported to the solidification plant on the southwest side of the plant. They are then transported to the landfill after passing the solidification test.
